David Jacoby, our Chief of Strategy at Syndis is a top IT security expert bringing over 25 years of unparalleled expertise in IT security to our team. Renowned as one of Sweden's most daring hackers, David has a distinguished career that includes collaborating with law enforcement and some of the world's largest organizations to address complex cybersecurity threats globally.

David's exceptional ability to demystify intricate IT security issues has made him a sought-after speaker at international conferences and a frequent guest on global news platforms, magazines, and podcasts. He has showcased live hacking demonstrations on television programs such as "HACKAD_," "Veckans Ord," and "Stoppa Tjuven," and has provided technical advisory for notable works including the "Millennium Trilogy". His expertise is also cited in books like "A Guide to Kernel Exploitation: Attacking the Core" "Generation 500" "Svenska hackare" and the recent "Cybersecurity ABCs"

David's groundbreaking research includes hacking his own home, exploiting national vulnerabilities, and compromising a fully updated MAC system without external tools. His dedication to combating digital crime earned him recognition from the Theft Prevention Association in 2021.

Bára completed her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Iceland and went on to pursue a master's degree in Political Security Studies from both the University of Iceland and the University of St Andrews. Possessing extensive management experience, she has devoted several years to streamlining processes and introducing automation within financial acquiring institutions. Her preferred position entails collaborative work with both technological and business facets to achieve tasks efficiently.

Guðrún Valdís Jónsdóttir is an information security enthusiast with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Princeton University. She started her journey at Syndis in penetration testing and has since taken on roles in security management consulting and as the company’s CISO, before stepping into her current role as team lead of Syndis’s Security Management team. Before joining Syndis, she worked as a penetration tester at Aon in New York City.
Guðrún is all about finding effective ways to weave security into everyday business practices and is passionate about fostering a positive security culture.

Gunnar has almost a decade experience in software development. He has taken on various roles as a mobile, backend and DevOps engineer to more of a team leadership role in recent years. He is used to leading large, cross functional teams on various projects. He has a B.Sc degree in Computer Science from Reykjavík University.

Before coming to Syndis Guðríður had over 5 years of experience as a Quality and Information Security Manager in the pharmaceutical industry and was responsible for maintaining an ISO/IEC 27001 certification.
Guðríður has a scientific background with a B.Sc and M.Sc in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is a certified Lead Auditor in ISO/IEC 27001 and is a certified D-level Project Manager.
She loves structure and things that are well organized and her passion is to make information security attractive.
Guðríður operates as Syndis CISO leading our own Information Security Management System. She is deeply passionate about ISO 27001 and at Syndis, she also serves as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) for Syndis clients. She has guided both large and smaller organizations through the ISO 27001 certification process. Some might even call her the queen of ISO.
